A seven-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on ‘Opportunities in Beekeeping and Horticultural Crops in the NEH Region’
was organised under the funding of Agri-Business Incubation (ABI), ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya, from March 6th to 12th, 2024. The programme was mainly
focused on imparting behavioural changes towards agri-preneurship and avenues of entrepreneurship in beekeeping and horticultural crops. About thirteen educated and unemployed youth had participated in the programme.
The schedule of lectures involved various experts / scientists of the Institute as resource persons. The schedule delivered both theoretical
and hands-on experience training to participants on various issues and opportunities for entrepreneurship and start-ups in beekeeping and horticulture. An interactive session was held during
the valedictory programme between the trainees and scientists to release the benefits to participants during the programme.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Aniruddha Roy (Course Director), Dr. Sandip Patra (Course Director), Dr. H. Rymbai (Course Director), Dr. N. Uttam Singh (Course Director) and staffs of ABI, Smt. Thameri Marak and Phiyolin.
